Sun, Sip, Repeat: A Girls Trip to Vegas

Las Vegas isn’t just for bachelor parties and high-rolling gamblers,  it’s also the perfect playground for four moms looking to let loose, sip fancy cocktails, and soak up a little sunshine. Our summer three-night getaway proved that with the right mix of pools, food, shows, and just a touch of chaos, Vegas can be the ultimate girls trip, even for those tired moms, who think they’ve earned an early bedtime.

Home Base: The New Fontainebleau Hotel & Casino

Fontainebleau Hotel Casino on North End of the Strip

We checked in early (score!) and snagged connecting rooms,  or “conjoining rooms” as some like to call them. The rooms were fresh, clean, and didn’t smell like the ghosts of Vegas past, you know, the days when cigarette smoke was a permanent fixture in hotel rooms. A win in our book.

After dropping off our bags, we hit the food hall for lunch. Breakfast sandwiches and Bloody Marys at 2 pm? Absolutely. Fueling up for our first Vegas pool session, drinks in hand, vibes perfect, wallets slightly lighter.

Night 1: Dinner at Best Friend & Slot Machine Shenanigans

After a quick refresh, we headed to Best Friend at Park MGM for dinner,  a seriously fun spot that set the tone for the weekend. Afterwards, we tried our luck at the slot machines, purely for laughs, and then crashed early. Vegas is exhausting, even when you’re “just relaxing.”

Day 2: Brunch, Pools, and Cirque

Coffee in hand, we wandered our hotel and then the Strip. A Bellagio garden stop set the scene, followed by brunch at Bardot Brasserie (French onion soup in the summer? Yes, please) Shopping? We looked, we admired, we didn’t buy,  apparently, you can’t pay your mortgage in designer handbags.

The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden rotates its elaborate floral displays five times a year.

Afternoon pool sessions split the group: some napped, some sipped cocktails, some perfected the art of pool handstands.

Dinner at Carbone was a culinary dream, though we had to hustle to make our Mad Apple show. This cheeky, slightly raunchy Cirque du Soleil performance had us gasping, laughing, and mentally signing off on any future jello shots (we are definitely not 20 anymore).

Carbone is inside Aria Resort and Casino, a “short” 15 minute walk to New York, New York where the Mad Apple show is performed.

Day 3: Pool, Gambling, and Canadian Friends

We spent the day balancing pool lounging with adulting responsibilities (like walking to grab coffee and facetime with the family). Dinner at Catch, cocktails at Crystal Bar, then a final Vegas hurrah at the craps table. Cue friendly Canadians, loud cheering, and the unexpected thrill of leaving with more money than we came with. Vegas magic indeed.

Day 4: Sad Goodbye & Summer Survival

The last morning is a blur, maybe a coffee, maybe a walk, maybe just staring at the ceiling before the obligatory tired ride to the airport. Vegas in the summer is hot, but mostly survivable when you limit your outside time to poolside escapes.

Tips for a Successful Girls Trip to Vegas

  • Vegas tip: those hotels that look like they’re just a hop away? Prepare for a 45-minute sauna session in the middle of the Strip, sweat, sunburn, and a little regret included. Just pay for the rideshare.

  • Hotels are cheaper in summer (but food and drinks are always pricey).

  • Plan shows and dinner ahead if you want to avoid feeling rushed.

  • Connecting rooms are a lifesaver when traveling with friends, easy hangouts + fit checks.

  • Gambling is more fun with friends, especially friendly Canadians cheering you on.

Vegas isn’t just about hitting the Strip hard,  it’s about balance: poolside cocktails, incredible dining, a little gambling, and unforgettable shows. And yes, moms can absolutely do it all without losing their minds (too much).
